Note that in both 2016 and 2024, s significant portion of votes that got Trump across the line, were from people voting AGAINST Clinton/Harris rather than for Trump. Both were deeply flawed candidates.
The DNC somehow thought that just being women would be enough. It did give them the opportunity for them to further characterize the Republicans as anti-women, but I believe that the right woman, can easily win the office whether she be from the right or left.
