The Unholy Truth

The Church of the Holy AR-15

They preach peace on Sunday, then praise AR-15s by Monday. The Prince of Peace has been replaced by the Prophet of Firearms.

When faith turns into firepower, the Bible becomes just another accessory.

Jesus Said “No Killing.” Evangelicals Said “Hold My AR-15.”

When you think of Jesus, you imagine a man preaching peace, not violence. The kind who told Peter to drop his sword, healed the man Peter attacked, and said, “Love your enemies.” The message was simple: stop fighting and start forgiving. Yet somehow, his loudest American followers turned into flag-waving gun fanatics who think “turn the other cheek” means “aim for the head.”

Ask an Evangelical about guns, and you’ll hear more about the Second Amendment than the Sermon on the Mount. They’ll quote Luke 22:36 — where Jesus tells his disciples to “buy a sword” — and pretend that’s divine approval for owning an assault rifle. They skip the part where Jesus scolds Peter for actually using one. It’s almost as if they know what the Bible says but prefer their own version.

Somewhere along the way, the gospel of peace was traded for the gospel of the gun — and hardly anyone in church noticed.
