In mid second century, a wealthy shipowner told the church in Rome that the God of the Old Testament and the Father of Jesus couldn't be reconciled, only to be thrown out.
Obviously my reasons do not mirror those of Marcion, but I secretly wish his effort to separate the Hebrew Scriptures from Christianity, to utterly reject every Prophet, every Psalm, every Proverb, and all and everything else in the Jewish Bible had held fast, and there remained no connection between the so-called ‘Old and New Testaments.’
Let both Testaments stand alone, each to its unique purpose, and each to its own idea of just who and what the Godhood actually represents. They both tell a completely different story, and that old cliche, ‘East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet,’ certainly and unquestionably describes the basic incompatibility of the two Testaments.

The teachings of heretics like Marcion can't be reconciled with Jesus own words and life.
